Here at Fabulous Frames & Art, we love all things Modern! Today, we’re sharing with our readers some photos of the stunning Mid-Century home of Susan and Arlen, which is filled with the wonderful artwork of our beloved Charley Harper and his talented wife Edie Harper.
Above, the exterior of this home has serious curb appeal! We love the way it almost disappears into its wooden setting.
Susan and Arlen are avid fans of Modernism and Modern architecture, whose blog Cincinnati Modern is a tremendous resource and source of inspiration for anyone who’s looking to purchase or restore a Modern home in the Cincinnati area. Susan is a realtor specializing in MCM homes and co-author of the book 50 from the 50’s: Midcentury Architecture and Interiors in Cincinnati.
One of the bedrooms in this Cincinnati home features Edie Harper’s Spring Creeper, a serigraph of a cat in crisp, fresh colors. Notice the cat cozily perched on the window sill of this gorgeous home? Appropriately, the cat’s name is Harper!
In the stairwell is a gorgeous grouping of Charley’s limited-edition serigraphs, including Serengeti Spaghetti, Homebody (Box Turtle), The Last Sunflower Seed, Bittern Suite, and Early Risers, plus three rare serigraphs from Charley’s early Ford Times period — Muskellunge, Black-Capped Chickadee, and Praying Mantis with Yellow Bug:
In the neutral master bedroom, we catch a glimpse of the Charley’s Dolfun and Skipping School:
Cincinnati Modern is an excellent blog that chronicles Cincinnati-area architecture, and it’s thoughtfully maintained by Susan and Arlen, whose own Mid Century Modern home has been both a labor of love and an understandable source of pride. We especially appreciate checking out their Harper collection, but the entire home is gorgeous!
