When Fabulous Frames & Art started carrying super-cute dog prints over a year ago, we had no idea just how popular they would become! Our downtown Cincinnati customers especially love the vintage aesthetic of dog-themed faux advertisements by Ken Bailey and Krista Brooks. We’ve just added another artist to our dog-centric roster: the talented photographer Amanda Jones.

Amanda Jones began her photographic career in 1992 after graduating from Ithaca College with a degree in Cinema and Photography. She now lives in beautiful Williamstown, Massachusetts with her husband and business partner, Chris, their daughter Sophie, and her two Dachshunds Lily and Benny. Her stark, simple photographic style hones in on the individual personality of each of her canine subjects.

We at Fabulous Frames & Art are extremely proud to announce the release of The Art of Beverly Erschell, a book about the life and work of one of our best-selling Cincinnati artists! Bev Erschell is locally renowned for her expressive scenes of landmarks The Ascent, Tyler Davidson Fountain, and Krohn Conservatory, among other Cincinnati subjects.

This beautiful 96-page book, available in hardcover and paperback, chronicles Erschell’s career from her Northern Kentucky upbringing, through her studies in art school and early travel through Europe, all the way to the present day. Art historian Sue Ann Painter’s narrative traces Beverly’s influences and milestones along with many, many examples of Beverly’s work, beautifully reproduced in vivid color.

Beverly Erschell is a nationally known painter whose work is in galleries and collections throughout the United States. The Northern Kentucky resident is one of the most highly regarded painters in Greater Cincinnati, where she was trained and taught at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and University of Cincinnati. The Art of Beverly Erschell, published by Cincinnati Book Publishers, brings together representative examples of the artist s paintings and works on paper over four decades.

Sue Ann Painter, an art and architectural historian, is the author. She draws upon interviews with Aaron Betsky and Phillip Long. Cincinnati painter and graphic artist Mark Eberhard designed the book, which was printed in full color on acid-free paper by Wendling Printing Co., Newport Kentucky. The book is organized thematically, with chapters highlighting Erschell’s portraits, travels in Europe and the United States, and energetic cityscapes of Greater Cincinnati.
